Types of Projection Screens |

Optical screen – uses lens elements inside screen (single or double component) |
||||
| Fresnel – series of concentric circles that bend the light forward | ||||
| Advantage: decreases throw distance | ||||
| Disadvantage: creates aberrations, different brightness, grooves get dirty or damaged, resolution limits | ||||
| Lenticular – vertical lines that reduce vertical cone and concentrate light | ||||
| Advantage: allows for a smaller lamp and greater sweet spot. Also, black lines cut out ambient light so it won’t wash out image. | ||||
| Diffusion screen – a single element screen with no lens elements, diffusion particles bend light forward. | ||||
